Early this morning, a fire broke out in Canoga Park, engrossing several vehicles in a detached garage next to an apartment building. According to a statement released by the Los Angeles Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to 7249 N Jordan Ave after reports of a structural fire.
The LAFD arrived promptly at the scene at approximately 4:14 AM and were confronted with multiple vehicles ablaze. An aggressive and swift response was required to prevent the fire from spreading to the adjacent garden-style apartment complex. It took an ensemble of thirty firefighters no more than 30 minutes to successfully extinguish the fire. Fortuitously, no injuries were reported in the incident with the cause remaining under the department's scrutiny.
"Firefighters arrived to find several vehicles on fire in the detached garage/carport of a three-story garden-style apartment building," the LAFD conveyed in their announcement. This incident could have easily escalated, endangering the lives of apartment residents, had it not been for the quick action of the involved firefighting teams.
The damage assessment is ongoing and the cause of the fire is still to be determined. Residents awake during the early morning hours watched as the firefighters worked to control and finally put out the flames. Ensuring no one was harmed, these first responders again proved their vital role in maintaining public safety. The LAFD has stated that more information will be provided as their investigation continues.
