An armed standoff that started in the early hours of Sunday morning at a smoke shop in Sunland, San Fernando Valley, was resolved with the arrest of three individuals. As reported by KTLA, the confrontation began following a 911 call about an armed robbery at Platinum Smoke Shop situated on Foothill Boulevard.

Shortly after the arrival of the Los Angeles Police Department at approximately 3:30 A.M., they encountered, among them a woman and two men, barricaded inside the store, all armed with handguns. A suspect, while trying to escape in a vehicle, was apprehended, as preliminary information indicates, KTLA disclosed.

Meanwhile, CBS News Los Angeles reported that the first dispatch to the scene occurred earlier at about 1:30 A.M., following reports of an in-progress robbery. The situation soon escalated to a standoff as the suspects took refuge inside the smoke shop.

The LAPD consequently upgraded their response, summoning the SWAT team to the scene. The standoff, lasting nearly three hours, ultimately resulted in all the remaining suspects being taken into custody, with no injuries reported, according to CBS News Los Angeles. Information regarding the woman involved in the incident remains unclear, but police have stated she may not have been an active participant in the robbery.
