Albemarle Police Department is urgently requesting the public's assistance in locating a vehicle believed to be connected to a recent domestic-related shooting incident. In the early hours of Saturday morning, around 2:12 a.m., officials responded to a call of shots fired in the 600 block of NC 24/27 Bypass E. After arriving on the scene, officers discovered two injured females, according to a report from QC News.
One of the victims was quickly transported to a hospital for medical treatment and was subsequently released. The second victim, however, was transported with life-threatening injuries. As law enforcement continues their search, they have released details of the suspect's car—a 2017 Chevy Malibu sedan with a noticeable dent in the passenger door. The vehicle also carries a temporary North Carolina license plate, VZ-41891, WCNC reports.
The focus on a specific automobile has sharpened the effort to quickly apprehend the individual responsible for the shooting, which investigators have determined was not a random act, but stemmed from a domestic situation. This clarification comes as a small assurance to community members concerned about a broader threat to public safety. WBTV adds that the tinted car, with its distinct damages, should be immediately recognizable to those on the lookout.
Authorities are calling on anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the silver Chevy Malibu or any other relevant information to come forward and help ensure that justice is swiftly served. Community members are asked to take note of the vehicle's identifying features and to contact the Albemarle Police Department with possible sightings or any other useful tips that could aid in the investigation.
