Residents and visitors to Koreatown were shaken by an unexpected armed robbery in broad daylight earlier this week. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident took place in a parking garage of a shopping center on the 3500 block of 6th Street at approximately 12:40 P.M. on Wednesday. A male suspect reportedly brandished a firearm at the victim while she was inside her vehicle and forcefully demanded her purse.
The situation escalated when the victim, in an attempt to flee from danger, exited her vehicle and ran. Tragically, the suspect managed to catch up to her and relieved her of the purse. Witnesses observed the suspect entering an awaiting vehicle before fleeing the scene with the stolen items. The LAPD has described the suspect as a 30-year-old male Hispanic, with black hair, and urges anyone with information to come forward.
The LAPD's Olympic Division Robbery detectives are now actively seeking assistance from the community to apprehend the culprit responsible for this crime. Those with information can reach out to the LAPD Olympic Division Robbery Detectives at 213-382-9460 at any time or connect with the LA Regional Crime Stoppers anonymously if preferred.
