Havertown, a Delaware County community, witnessed a startling disruption yesterday morning when a car careened into a local pharmacy. SKYFOX flew over the aftermath where Katz Pharmacy, a fixture at the intersection of Eagle and Darby roads, was jarringly penetrated by a vehicle following a traffic altercation. FOX 29 reported that the incident occurred just after 7 a.m., with both involved drivers claiming they had the green light.
The pharmacy was not open, sparing customers and staff from potential harm. "The whole car was in the front. You gotta worry about the structure of the building. I have tenants upstairs. You worry that they may not have a place to live," Michael Cionci, the registered pharmacist and owner of Katz Pharmacy, shared in a statement given to FOX 29. Notwithstanding the havoc, the historic building, over a century old, remained structurally sound, as Cionci conveyed his gratitude that life persisted unscathed amidst the rubble.
Simultaneously, 6abc reported that Haverford Township police have opted not to press charges in what appears to have been a genuine accident. While property was damaged, with employees and restoration crews quickly responding to clear the debris, the business managed quickly to resume its duty of serving the community's healthcare needs.
Meanwhile, NBC10 has provided footage capturing the diligent efforts of workers restoring the edifice post-calamity. The driver responsible for the pharmacy's unanticipated renovation sustained minor injuries, authorities disclosed. More details were offered by the officials stating one vehicle traveling east on Eagle Road intersected unfortunately with a northbound vehicle on Darby Road, with both parties claiming green light privileges, as NBC10 reported.
