
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) homicide detectives are currently investigating a death that occurred this past weekend in the North Division. The incident took place on Trailer Drive, drawing a heavy law enforcement presence to the scene.
Officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Trailer Drive shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, following a call for assistance to MEDIC. Upon their arrival, they discovered a victim suffering from traumatic injuries. Shortly after being pronounced deceased at the scene by a Medic, the homicide investigation began, according to the CMPD's official news release.
The CMPD Homicide Unit, along with Crime Scene Search, were on site to collect physical evidence and to ensure that every detail of the scene was meticulously examined. Supporting the investigation efforts were representatives from CMPD's Operations Command, Victim Services, CFD, and Medic.
An appeal has been made by CMPD to the public for assistance. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward. Community members with relevant information are urged to contact Crime Stoppers. Tips leading to an arrest may qualify for rewards.
