A Columbus man was handed a 25-year prison sentence for his crimes involving sex trafficking, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Ohio. Terrael A. Alls, the 29-year-old convict also known by "Rell" and "Ace," lured women with false promises of a modeling career only to exploit them in a sordid scheme of sexual services.
First alerted by a tip in early 2022, the case unfolded when a woman staying at the Red Roof Inn in Columbus contacted the authorities over a suspicious business card for Elite Diamond Studios, which was linked to Alls and several escort service advertisements, despite promises of glamorous modeling work, Alls capitalized on the women for the sex trade, using coercion and violence to maintain control.
In a statement, Kenneth L. Parker, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio, enforced the sentence today by U.S. District Judge Michael H. Watson after Alls's guilty plea, the investigation spearheaded by the Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force revealed a staggering collection of over 42,000 lewd images and videos on Alls's laptop, including those of the victims involved, further implicating him in the heinous cycle of exploitation.
The Task Force, a collaborative effort under the supervision of Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost's Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission, encompassed resources from multiple agencies, leading to Alls's arrest in March 2023 and his subsequent guilty plea earlier this year. Harnessing everything from police departments to healthcare services, interagency cooperation has been crucial in dismantling this network of depravity.
Assistant United States Attorneys Emily Czerniejewski and Jennifer M. Rausch represented the United States in this case, showcasing the grim reality behind Alls's operation, wherein women were trafficked away from the lights of promised fame into the shadows of exploitation and abuse. Alls exercised control over his victims through drugs and violence, such as firing a gun near one's head and subjecting them to physical assaults.
