Authorities are intensifying their efforts to locate Quinntel Bagley, 38, a kidnapping suspect who recently made a daring escape from a hospital and is now accused of abducting the same woman for a second time this summer.
This unfolding saga has the U.S. Marshals, along with local police, on a determined manhunt across the Columbus area. According to The Columbus Dispatch, Bagley, who has a history of sex offenses, was seen early Friday morning by the female victim whom he had previously kidnapped from her Grove City home and later escaped in Hilltop near Eureka Avenue and West Broad Street.
The victim escaped unharmed and notified authorities of her harrowing ordeal.
The search for Bagley described as 6-foot and 212 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, escalated when he fled from Fairfield Medical Center, where he was receiving treatment for self-inflicted injuries the suspect, who had been arrested on charges of kidnapping and burglary, had seemingly eluded the law once more after his initial capture on June 13, adding urgency to the manhunt as reported by 10TV.
Following Bagley's escape, he is said to have broken into a residence near the hospital and, in a startling encounter, obtained a vehicle by intimidating the homeowner into surrendering her keys to a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe, embarking on a fugitive's flight that has put both law enforcement and the community at large on high alert.
The U.S. Marshals are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that could contribute to his apprehension, as Bagley continues to pose a significant threat given his designation as "armed and dangerous," a warning that has been underscored by local police and federal law enforcement agencies, per The Columbus Dispatch.
In recent developments, Grove City Police Lt. Jason Stern disclosed that it was the same woman from the June incident who had been subjected to the ordeal yet again.
Stern mentioned through 10TV, "The woman was able to get away from Bagley unharmed", a detail that hints at the victim's traumatic encounters with Bagley repeating over these tense summer months, her escape adding a glimmer of relief in an otherwise dark narrative.
Anyone with information on Bagley's whereabouts is urged to proceed cautiously and contact authorities immediately. The public can reach out to 911 or the U.S. Marshals at (614) 469-5540.
