
The Detroit Police Department is actively searching for a missing 21-year-old man with autism, Traevon Whitfield, who was last seen on the west side of Detroit. Police reports indicate that Whitfield was last spotted on Tuesday, near Calvert Avenue and La Salle Boulevard. He was dropped off at around noon but failed to make his way inside the intended location.
Whitfield's mother confirmed to the authorities her son's autism diagnosis. As per the description provided by ClickOnDetroit, Traevon Whitfield is a 22-year-old male, standing at 6 feet, 1 inch tall, and weighs around 180 pounds. The clothing he was last seen in included a black shirt, navy blue sweatpants, and black sandals. The Detroit Police Department has enlisted the public's assistance for any information regarding Whitfield's whereabouts.
Together with the online community's help, the department is trying to leverage social media to aid in their search. On their official Facebook page for missing persons, the Detroit Police Department's Missing Persons Unit posted a plea for public assistance. "Please help us find missing Traevon Whitfield.
