If you're planning a trip to any of Douglas County's Government offices around Labor Day, you'll need to reschedule. In a recent announcement, the county stated that all its government offices will be shut on Monday, Sept. 2, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. This closure includes all administrative offices that typically provide in-person services to the public, and normal business hours will resume the following day, Tuesday, Sept. 3, as per Douglas County.
Though the physical offices will not be accessible, the county emphasizes that many services will remain available online. Notably, residents can still carry out tasks such as license plate renewal either through the county's online platform or at various kiosk locations scattered throughout the County and state. This provides a convenient alternative for those needing to take care of these specific services during the office closure.
Residents need to plan for any business that can only be conducted in person. With the Labor Day holiday being a popular time for a last hurrah of summer activities, government services tend to see a spike in activity just before and just after such closures. So, the savvy amongst us will either get their business done before the holiday weekend or brace for a busier-than-usual Tuesday when doors open again.
