Following a comprehensive nationwide search handled by T2 Professional Consulting, LLC, the initial pool of 27 hopefuls stands trimmed to these final contenders, all boasting substantial backgrounds in firefighting and public safety.
According to the City of Duncanville, the City Manager, Douglas E. Finch, has shown confidence in the selection process, noting the high caliber of candidates ready to commit themselves to safeguarding "the City of Champions." The intensive selection procedure wielded by T2 Professional Consulting, through their patented Benchmarking and Tri-Metrix process, has identified these frontrunners who seemingly align with Duncanville's ethos and aspirations for its Fire Department.
The candidates in contention carry a wealth of experience and credentials between them Chase, a long-time servant of Duncanville with over 31 years in various firefighting roles, holds the title of Interim Fire Chief following his stint as the Assistant Fire Chief since 2017. Connealy, on the other hand, brings a hefty resume with 45 years under his belt and stints such as Fire Chief in Houston and Texas State Fire Marshal and recently capped his career as a Senior Director of Emergency Services in Williamson County. Garrett, with 25 years devoted to the Kansas City, Missouri, Fire Service, also has an academic edge with a Ph.D. in Value-Driven Leadership and currently consults through The J. Garrett Group.
