Duncanville's search for a new Police Chief is narrowing to its critical stage as the City Manager's office has announced the advancement of three candidates to the interview round. According to the City of Duncanville, City Manager Douglas E. Finch, and Assistant City Manager Robert D. Brown, Jr., have extended invitations to Kenneth Booker, Brad Leonard, and Matthew Stogner, to interview tomorrow for the position.

According to the City of Duncanville, Finch expressed gratitude toward T2 Professional Consulting, LLC for their role in helping to quickly get down to the business of filling this crucial position within our organization. The consulting firm utilized a specialized process to whittle down the initial 20 applications to these three contenders, each bringing a deep well of experience and leadership from their respective backgrounds in public safety.

Kenneth Booker, cited for his extensive career with Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and period as Interim Chief of Police in Youngtown, Arizona, stands as one potential choice. His educational background includes a Master of Science in Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Brad Leonard, currently Deputy Chief of Police in the Grand Prairie, Texas Police Department, may be a promising candidate with a Master of Science in Criminology from Texas Christian University. The third candidate, Assistant Chief of Police and Interim Chief for Duncanville, Matthew Stogner, brings hands-on experience from within the very department he aspires to lead, coupled with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Phoenix.

The City has organized two panels to effectively handle the interviews; one consisting of Duncanville Police Department members and a local citizen and another composed of various city and police officials, including the City Manager, a council member, and local Police Chiefs. These panels are looking to assess the candidates under the pressure of high expectations, firmly rooted in community involvement and institutional understanding.
