The spotlight turns to Duncanville, TX, as Military Makeover with Montel, a television series that honors military families with home renovations, commemorates a significant milestone. The show is set to launch its 40th season, this time paying homage to Sergeant Kevin Jones, a veteran who has dedicated his life to serving his country and supporting fellow veterans upon his return to civilian life. According to information provided by Duncanville's official website, renovations are a way of expressing gratitude for Sergeant Jones's contributions.
Sergeant Jones, who enlisted in the Marines in 1988, carved out a laudable career, serving in Administration and Payroll during operations like Desert Storm and Desert Shield. His service was distinguished by tireless dedication and he was recognized with awards including the Combat Action Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. Additionally, throughout his 12-year tenure with the Marines, Jones faced the harsh face of combat, an experience that left him with physical injuries and PTSD. Despite these challenges, he has consistently put forth the effort towards veteran advocacy, working at his local VA to assist others in claiming their deserved benefits.
Military Makeover with Montel®, helmed by Montel Williams, has been making a difference in the lives of veterans and their families through its heartfelt renovations. According to its President Nicole Oropesa, the program embodies BrandStar Entertainment's mission, which is "to create a positive impact on peoples' lives", as per the City of Duncanville.
