
An assistant teacher at Clark County School District's Eldorado High School has been arrested on charges of allegedly attempting to engage in sexual activity with a minor, as per the Clark County School District Police Department. The investigation which began last Friday at the high school, culminated in the arrest of 20-year-old Jerusalem Garcia, FOX5 reports.
Garcia, who was booked at the Clark County Detention Center, faces one count of contacting or attempting to contact a minor by a person of authority for the purpose of sex, this follows her hiring as a Specialized Teacher assistant at the high school since August 2021 but now she is currently placed on leave according to district policy after allegations surfaced, according to 8 News Now.
The school district is looking into a serious issue involving a teacher assistant at Eldorado High. While the investigation is ongoing, the assistant's role in the school's specialized program is on hold. The district is working closely with law enforcement to ensure student safety and maintain the integrity of the school environment. The Clark County School District Police are also focused on keeping students safe but haven't shared more details yet.
