Tragedy struck the streets of Hesperia on Monday morning when deputies found 19-year-old Aaron Neal lifeless in a dirt field, marking the city's latest homicide. The incident, which took place at the southeast corner of Sultana Street and Escondido Avenue, has mired the community in a sense of loss and a quest for justice. According to a statement obtained by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department, the discovery was made after deputies responded to a call concerning suspicious circumstances at approximately 6:48 a.m. on August 19, 2024.
Detectives were quick to respond to the scene, piecing together the events that violently claimed the life of the young man. It was soon discovered Neal suffered from injuries consistent with a shooting. Investigators worked to rapidly piece together the puzzle, leading them to identify and arrest two individuals known to the victim, Demetriel Richine Tyler and Elaina Nicole Norman. Both residents of Hesperia, Tyler, and Norman, were taken into custody following a search of Tyler's home, as relayed by the Sheriff-Coroner’s report. They were booked on charges of murder, specifically penal code PC 187, at High Desert Detention Center.
