A recent traffic stop in the Houston area escalated beyond a minor infraction, leading to the apprehension of a man now linked to multiple drug offenses. On the evening of August 5, deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office stopped a vehicle on the 6700 block of FM 1960 Rd E. The driver, identified as Dwayne Winningham, was discovered to have five unresolved misdemeanor warrants.
Further inquiry by the deputies unearthed not just the open warrants, but also a cocktail of illicit substances. Found in Winningham’s possession were various controlled substances, inclusive of 8.4 grams of Adzenys XR ODT, 0.6 grams of Adderall, and a mix of Methamphetamine weighing 0.3 grams, 1.4 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms, Oxycodone, alongside Marijuana.
Following the chain of discoveries, Winningham was arrested and ultimately incarcerated in the Harris County Jail. According to the official report provided by Constable Mark Herman’s office, "Dwayne Winningham was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for the open warrants and charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance."
Winningham now faces the consequences prescribed by the state’s legal apparatus, seen in the bond set at $10,000.00. His financial hurdle for freedom, courtesy of the jurisprudence from the 262nd District Court, arises amidst a societal backdrop where debates over the criminal justice approach to drug-related crimes persist. Details of the arrest were publicly disseminated yesterday, as shared by Constable Mark Herman’s Facebook page.
