Running from August 12 to 25, over 35 local eateries are slated to showcase their culinary creations with special menus tailored for the event. An official announcement for the event was made at the new Hickory Ridge location of Ranazul, as highlighted in a recent Howard County statement.
Howard County Executive Calvin Ball has thrown his support behind the campaign, emphasizing the diversity of food options available. From the tropical tastes of Hawaii to the savory offerings of Korean barbeque and the elegance of French cuisine, the restaurant weeks promise something to delight every palate. "Summer Restaurant and Craft Beverages Weeks is a great opportunity to explore all that Howard County’s culinary scene has to offer," Ball stated. Not only is the campaign a way to enjoy a variety of foods, but it's also seen as a means to "support our local businesses and entrepreneurs," according to Ball in a statement obtained by Howard County.
Jennifer Jones, CEO of the Howard County Economic Development Authority, highlighted the event's significant role in boosting the local economy. "Howard County Restaurant & Craft Beverages Weeks showcases the incredible diversity and talent of our local culinary scene while significantly boosting our economy," Jones remarked. She stated that participating "play a crucial role in supporting local businesses and maintaining the vibrant character that makes Howard County a premier food and drink destination." Tricia Hudson, co-owner of Hudson Coastal Raw Bar & Grille and board chair of Visit Howard County, added her voice to encourage patronage of the event, highlighting the memorable experiences manage to offer to diners from fresh fish to refreshing Crushes and sun-ripened tomatoes, as reported by the Howard County's press release.
