After a relentless two-month search, U.S. Marshals apprehended 38-year-old Quinntel Bagley in Lima, Ohio, on charges of kidnapping and a slew of other felonies, as reported by WBNS. Bagley, who had reportedly kidnapped the same Grove City woman twice over the summer, was found hiding in a residence on the 400 block of Cornell Drive by multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the FBI.
In a detailed release, the U.S. Marshal's Office conveyed that Bagley's capture was facilitated in no small part due to a "good tip" about his whereabouts. Bagley, who was hiding at a female acquaintance's home, was taken into custody without resistance. The U.S. Marshalls have not ruled out possible charges for individuals who may have knowingly aided Bagley, as Michael D. Black, a United States marshal, told The Dispatch, "There was evidence that Bagley had been driven up to Lima by at least one friend."
Bagley was initially arrested on June 13 after Grove City police responded to a report about a missing woman. He surprised the woman at her home and forced her into his vehicle, but was later apprehended. Following an escape from police custody at Fairfield Medical Center, Bagley continued his criminal run by breaking into a residence and stealing an SUV at knifepoint.
This case took yet another turn two weeks ago when Grove City Police Lt. Jason Stern revealed to WBNS that Bagley had, once again, kidnapped the same woman. The victim managed to escape unharmed eventually. Responding officers were disciplined for failing to secure Bagley, leading to his initial escape properly. Bagley now awaits his extradition hearing at the Allen County jail.
