Lake Tahoe is setting the stage for the upcoming 2024-2025 ski season with multiple resorts announcing their targeted opening dates, a signal to winter sport enthusiasts that cooler temperatures and snow-covered slopes are just around the corner. As reported by FOX40, Vail Resorts has confirmed November 22 as the starting date for Heavenly Mountain Resort and Northstar California Resort. Meanwhile, Kirkwood Mountain Resort is set to welcome visitors from December 6.
Heavenly features 4,800 acres of patrolled terrain, while Northstar offers 100 trails. Kirkwood provides 2,300 acres of rideable terrain and a canopy zipline experience 75 feet above the ground. According to OnTheSnow, other regional resorts are also preparing for the season: Mt. Rose - Ski Tahoe is set to open on November 8, Boreal Mountain Resort aims for November 15, Palisades Tahoe is targeting November 20, and Sugar Bowl Resort plans to start on November 29.
Beyond the fixed dates set forth by Vail Resorts, it is important to note that the majority of opening dates remain subject to climatic and operational adjustments. Savvy skiers and boarders are encouraged to review updates regularly, as lift start times are prone to change. Vail Resorts further entices early birds with a proposition: discounted Epic Passes are available until September 2, ranging from $45 to $95 for the day pass, with full season options priced at $1,004 for the Epic Pass, and $746 for the Epic Local Pass.
