
The Los Angeles Police Department's (LAPD) West Bureau Homicide unit is currently seeking further information on the case of a 19-year-old Korean male, Joon Hee Han, who recently passed away due to complications from a head injury sustained in a supposed attack; this incident, which took place in late July, is now the subject of increasing scrutiny and investigation, the LAPD said.
Initially admitted to a hospital in Whittier, Han unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and detectives are piecing together the events that occurred on the 700 block of South Harvard Boulevard in the Olympic Area, where the family alleges the attack took place, detectives are asking anyone with any knowledge to come forward, as even the smallest detail could potentially aid in elucidating the circumstances of Han’s tragic demise.
In their search for clues, the West Bureau Homicide detectives have publicly requested additional evidence, witness testimonies, and other forms of information relevant to Han’s case, indicating a profound need to understand the sequence of events leading to the young man's untimely death and to pursue justice on his behalf.
"As more information becomes available and the sequence of events that led to Joon Hee Han’s death becomes clear, we will provide additional information," the LAPD mentioned in their release, stressing the importance of patience and privacy during these formative stages of their inquiry.
