
Flames engulfed a single-family home in Arleta yesterday, as Los Angeles firefighters rushed to contain the blaze. The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to the scene at 9411 N Gullo Avenue at 6:22 PM, where a one-story residence with an attached garage was found ablaze, according to an LAFD alert. With heavy fire showing, the firefighters mounted an offensive strategy to quell the fire.
Efforts to tackle the fire ensued with agility, and within 16 minutes, the LAFD successfully knocked down the flames. A team of 46 firefighters was involved in the operation, navigating through smoke and embers to bring the situation under control. The LAFD later reported, "Knockdown: 46 firefighters extinguished the fire in 16 minutes with no injuries reported." This firefighting prowess contained the fire to the garage, saving the rest of the home from damage.
Thankfully, this incident did not result in any injuries, either to the occupants of the home or the responding fire personnel. The rapid response and efficient action of the firefighters averted what could have been a devastating conflagration, preventing the fire from extending into the living areas or attic of the dwelling. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, with teams working to determine its origin and circumstances.
The incident occurred in Council District 6 and was managed by Battalion 12, along with multiple engine companies such as E275, E287, E290, and E298, and rescue ambulances RA898 and RA98. Tasked with such emergencies, ensuring public safety, the LAFD continues, to diligently serve the sprawling metropolis of Los Angeles, keeping its residents out of harm's way.
