The first phase of Maxwell Farms Regional Park's renovation is complete, featuring new sports fields, expanded parking, and improved accessibility, including ADA-compliant paths. Sonoma County Regional Parks announced the updates on August 1st, celebrating the park's enhanced facilities for families and sports enthusiasts in Boyes Hot Springs.
The park now offers all-weather turf for baseball, soccer, and lacrosse, reducing game cancellations due to bad weather. Supervisor David Rabbitt highlighted the project’s focus on health and sustainability. Additionally, more parking spaces and new EV charging stations have been added for convenience.
Accessibility improvements ensure that the park is welcoming to everyone, with ADA paths leading to fields, picnic areas, and bleachers. Supervisor Susan Gorin praised the park's transformation, inspired by BMX freestyler Nikita Ducarroz. The park now boasts safer, greener pitches with advanced stormwater systems and efficient irrigation. According to Parks Director Bert Whitaker, per Sonoma County Regional Parks, phase two will include a new skatepark and pickleball courts.
