
A Millsboro man has been arrested in connection to a series of thefts from vehicles and a burglary, according to the Delaware State Police. Wayne Warwick, 30, faces multiple charges after a police investigation linked him to crimes in the Oak Orchard area.
Delaware State Police reported that on August 24, officers responded to a burglary on Cherokee Avenue where forced entry into a house was discovered, though no items were taken. Subsequent reports indicate, thefts from vehicles on nearby Wynikako Avenue between August 23 and August 24. Through investigative efforts, Warwick was named as a suspect, and warrants were issued for his arrest.
Warwick was taken into custody on August 29, without incident. Details released by Delaware State Police reveal that he has been charged with third-degree burglary, theft under $1,500 where the victim is 62 or older, two counts of attempted theft with the same victim age criteria, one count of attempted theft under $1,500, criminal mischief, and four counts of third-degree criminal trespass.
Following his arrest, Warwick was processed at Troop 4, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and subsequently released on a $5,000 unsecured bond. The charges against Warwick bring to light concerns of vulnerability among senior residents in the Millsboro community.
