A car collided with a pole in North Hollywood on Monday afternoon, entrapping its occupants and injuring an additional person believed to be either a pedestrian or a bicyclist, KTLA reports. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the incident which occurred around 1:15 p.m. on the 11000 block of Victory Boulevard.
The nature and severity of the injuries suffered by those involved in the crash have yet to be disclosed, and at the scene, first responders worked to free one or more individuals trapped within the wreckage and the situation still unfolds with emergency units including firefighters and paramedics at the site, trying to manage the consequences of the crash and provide aid.
In an LAFD alert, it was detailed that the collision involved a "solo vehicle vs utility pole," and explicitly noted the trapping of one or more occupants. The exact events leading up to the crash, as well as the identity and the condition of the pedestrian or bicyclist involved, are currently under investigation.
Multiple emergency response teams including Firefighters, rescue ambulances, and an urban search and rescue unit were represented in the response labeled by the LAFD as "INC#0905", with Battalion Chief 14, Engine 60, and other teams quickly dispatched to the site.
