
An Owings Mills man, Quwan Gordon, has been charged with attempted murder after a road rage incident turned into a highway shooting in Howard County, Maryland. According to a report by Maryland State Police, the shooting took place on Monday, August 12 at around 1:30 p.m. on I-95, with troopers from Waterloo Barrack responding to the scene following reports of gunfire.
The victims, who were unharmed, described being shot at during a heated exchange with another driver, whom investigators later identified as the 48-year-old Gordon, search warrants at Gordon's residence and on the white Volkswagen he was driving led to the seizure of drugs and a loaded gun and he is being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center. He is prohibited from possessing firearms due to past felony convictions.
State Police followed up the initial charges of gun and drug violations with charges of attempted murder after consulting with the Howard County State's Attorney's Office.
Evidence recovered at the scene included projectiles and the victim's vehicle had clear bullet entry points, with the Maryland State Police Crime Scene Unit meticulously processing every lead. Following a detailed investigation, authorities were able to link Gordon to the offense, leading to his arrest on August 13 without incident at his residence.
