
Tragedy struck on Tuesday evening when a road rage incident in Columbus resulted in the death of 17-year-old Gage Anderson. Columbus Police Department responded to reports of a shooting on the 3500 block of Clime Rd. at approximately 8:11 PM, as documented in a release by the department. Found unresponsive, Anderson suffered a gunshot wound and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Columbus Fire medics, dispatched to the scene alongside police officers, rushed Anderson to the hospital, where his life could not be saved, and he was declared deceased at 8:40 PM. The release informed the public that the next of kin had been notified. Witnesses observed a vehicle fleeing the scene shortly after the gunfire, a detail that led to a swift response by law enforcement. At the traffic stop, the driver, 30-year-old Skyler Burley, was apprehended without incident and has been charged with murder, according to the Columbus Police Department's report. The suspect is currently held at the Franklin County Jail, with the documents suggesting that Anderson and Burley were unknown to one another before the altercation.
