On the streets of Havertown, Delaware County, shots rang out during a road rage incident yesterday afternoon. According to 6abc, at approximately 3:27 p.m. on the 2000 block of West Chester Pike, a woman in her 40s, driving a white Jeep Cherokee with her 10-year-old nephew onboard, was targeted by a barrage of gunfire. The ordeal reportedly began as a simple accident further up the road, evolving into a violent confrontation where the suspect, identified as Sean Moses of Drexel Hill, allegedly unleashed thirteen bullets onto their vehicle.

Witnesses described a scene of dismay and disbelief in a township usually draped in quietude. "You don't really hear much going on up here, quiet for the most part," Keyonna Duncan told 6abc. While the nephew escaped physical harm, his aunt sustained minor injuries from what is believed to be shrapnel or glass fragments. An ambulance transported them both to Lankenau Medical Center, where they received treatment, confirming the resonance of a sentiment expressed by Haverford Township Police Deputy Chief Joseph Hagan: "It is a miracle that no one was seriously injured over stupidity, someone firing 13 rounds at a vehicle -- we could easily be investigating a homicide here."

The suspect, 30-year-old Sean Moses, fled the scene in a black Lincoln SUV. However, his escape was short-lived. Utilizing a license plate reader, officers in Upper Darby spotted the vehicle and Moses was apprehended at the intersection of State Road and West Chester Pike. As reported by FOX29, a firearm found on the front seat of Moses' SUV further cemented the case against him. Moses now faces charges including attempted homicide and aggravated assault. "Upper Darby stopped the suspect and was able to take him into custody and recovered a handgun," stated Deputy Chief Hagan to 6abc.

Initial reports by the Haverford Township Police mistakenly identified the passengers of the Jeep as a mother and son, but later clarified that they were in fact aunt and nephew, as noted by CBS News Philadelphia. The sharp clarity of the woman's recollection proved pivotal, as she was able to relay a description of Moses and his license plate to authorities. "It was very instrumental for her to keep her wits about her to help us quickly solve this," said Deputy Chief Hagan. He further added, "With as many shots that were fired, we're very fortunate to be talking about a road rage incident and not a homicide."
