The Long Beach community is mourning the loss of a local motorcyclist after a tragic accident back in March. The victim, now identified as Alejandro Salazar, a 44-year-old San Pedro resident, succumbed to his injuries nearly five months after the collision, as reported by the Long Beach Police Department.
On the morning of March 25, at around 6:57 a.m., officers hurried to an injury traffic collision on Pier T Avenue, south of Pier T Lane, where they found Salazar in critical condition. Despite the efforts of Long Beach Fire Department personnel who provided emergency medical aid and transported him to a local hospital, the injuries proved fatal. The department's Collision Investigation detectives are still piecing together the details, but early indications suggest that Salazar's motorcycle crossed multiple traffic lanes before striking a Dodge Ram truck on the passenger side.
With the investigation still underway, detectives reached out to the public for any additional witnesses who might offer insight into the harrowing event. The department urges anyone with information on the incident to reach out to Detective D.
