
Yesterday, a blaze broke out at a church located in the Delridge neighborhood of Seattle, prompting a swift response from the city's fire department. According to a report published by the Seattle Fire Department, the incident occurred in the 5000 block of Delridge Way SW, where firefighters encountered smoke and flames upon arrival at approximately 12:39 p.m.
The report detailed that the firefighters faced a significant challenge as they arrived to find the detached building northwest of the main church engulfed in flames, subsequently causing the roof to collapse and making it unsafe for them to conduct searches inside, despite their efforts, they managed to bring the situation under control by 12:48 p.m. While no individuals were found inside during the searches of both the main church and the adjacent southwest building, and no injuries have been reported.
The fire also spread to the southwest building and the main church itself, yet the fire crews were able to contain the fire in those structures by 1:07 p.m. Teams of firefighters are currently on-site to tackle any residual hot spots and prevent potential flare-ups as they continue their investigation into what caused the fire to ignite in the first place.
