Seattle's Central District recently played host to MXR:SEA, a workshop series designed to foster connections and growth among professionals in the creative economy. The latest installation, which took place on July 25 at the Midtown Square, promised an evening of movement, interaction, and professional development. According to an article from Bottom Line Seattle, the event was attended by creatives eager to engage and pounce on resources tailored specifically for them.
Hosting a variety of breakout sessions with themes like "Move your Body, Mindset, Business, and Future," the workshop attracted figures such as Alvedo, Jazmyn Scott of Arte Noir, and Aaron Reader of STG Education and Community Engagement. The City Council President Sara Nelson was also present to kick off the festivities adding a layer of official welcome to the gathering. This convergence of creatives also featured a live performance from LiVt, with beats spun by DJs Tichi and St. Saudad.
Engagement, connection, and creation were the core focuses of three in-depth workshops aimed at bolstering soft skills and business acumen for small business owners. The event didn't just offer an opportunity for mingling; participants could also get new headshots for LinkedIn, thanks to photographer Robby Trammell. Those aspiring to visually capture the essence of the evening's vibrancy could check out images from photographers Sehil Bhathal and Hallie Kathryn, whose galleries were made available for the attendees' perusal.
For those who missed this gathering or are looking to keep up the momentum of networking and industry insights, the next MXR:SEA event is scheduled for August 22 at Occidental Mall. The upcoming workshop will shift the spotlight to the Business of Music in Seattle, featuring keynotes and insights from diverse creative professionals as well as live entertainment. It all kicks off at 5 p.m., offering another chance for creatives to sync with the rhythm of Seattle's dynamic economic landscape.
