A 36-year-old woman from Montgomery County, previously indicted on hefty charges for an alleged Medicaid fraudulent scheme, has been arrested in Dallas, Texas. The Ohio Attorney General's office confirmed the news of Janay Corbitt's capture after she was accused of unlawfully pocketing $1.5 million from Ohio Medicaid following months of evading authorities.

According to an announcement from Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, Corbitt was apprehended at a bus station by a coordinated task force. This assembly, consisting of Ohio and Texas Medicaid Fraud Control Units, the Dallas Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Service, worked in tandem to successfully track and finally arrest Corbitt on Thursday evening.

The indictment, issued on May 14 by a Franklin County grand jury, presents eight felony charges against Corbitt. The charges include first-degree felony counts for engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, aggravated theft for $1.5 million or more, and identity fraud against individuals in a protected class.

Authorities from Ohio’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit are set to proceed with the following legal actions to extradite Corbitt back to Ohio. She intends to face and answer directly to the charges stipulated in the indictment.
