The National Weather Service in Tampa has updated its local forecast, predicting a stretch of clear, sunny days punctuated sporadically by showers and thunderstorms starting Monday—conditions that seem to hold in balance the tail end of summer's sea and the murmurings of autumn's storm. According to the latest update by the NWS, today will be sunny, achieving a high near 93°F with heat index values nearing 97, while for tonight, skies will remain mostly clear with lows tapering to around 76°F.
Over the weekend, the pattern holds steadfast, with Sunday mirroring today’s heat, though a gentle north northeast wind will waft in the afternoon, and the evening cools to a low around 78°F, the change, however, lies ahead with the advent of the next workweek, presenting a 30% chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2 pm on Monday, which will see highs soaring again towards the mid-90s, and though the chance of precipitation increasing progressively reaching a 60% by Tuesday, the weather service assures that sunshine will mostly prevail throughout these intermittent summer torrents.
Tuesday's forecast anticipates a livelier dance of elements, with scattered showers and thunderstorms earlier in the day further cementing into likely showers and possible thunderstorms after 2 pm, the wind gusts remaining consistent with a mild west southwest brush at 5 to 9 mph. Transitioning into the night, the likelihood of thunderstorms continues before tapering off after 8 pm, giving in to a sequence of scattered showers through the early hours, skies subsequently clearing to a low around 77°F.
Midweek forecasts suggest a repetition of these patterns, with Wednesday presenting a 50% chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms mainly post-2 pm amidst an otherwise sunny day with highs of about 94°F, the calm of the wind occasionally disrupted by a west-southwest flow, Thursday, however, marks a peak in the likelihood of storms with a 70% chance of precipitation during both day and night, while Friday sustains this increased propensity for storms despite a mostly sunny backdrop, and despite the rhythmic interchange of sun and storm, temps continue to ebb in the low to mid-90s during the day and mid to high 70s at night, as per the National Weather Service forecast.
