
A two-vehicle collision in Westlake yesterday afternoon resulted in critical injuries and entrapment, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. At 1:56 P.M., emergency units responded to the incident at 1425 W 8th St where they found a total of three patients; one individual was trapped inside a vehicle, requiring firefighters to perform an extrication, and another person was ejected during the collision, as reported on the LAFD website.
An update from the LAFD posted at 2:14 P.M., indicated that an approximately 28-year-old female was extracted from one of the vehicles and she was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. An approximately 32-year-old female was also taken to the hospital in serious condition. One additional patient present at the scene declined treatment and transport by the LAFD. The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the incident (Inc# 2661), and any inquiries have been referred to them, the information was obtained through an official LAFD update.
The emergency response teams from Fire Station 11, alongside multiple rescue ambulances and battalion command units, were among the dispatched teams that attended the scene, the responders worked swiftly to manage the situation and provide the necessary life-saving interventions for the injured parties.
Inquiries about the circumstances leading to the accident or the condition of those involved have been directed towards the LAPD, as the investigation remains ongoing.
