The Delaware State Police have reported that both occupants of the Honda, a 62-year-old man, and a 51-year-old woman from Smyrna, Delaware, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The identities of the deceased are currently withheld, pending notification of their families. The driver of the Jeep, a 28-year-old woman from Massey, Maryland, sustained critical injuries and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital.

Following the crash, the roadway was closed for an estimated 4 hours while police units investigated and cleared the scene.
