Two young men, Dontarious Millender and Noah Humphries, both 19, have been formally charged in connection with a July shooting at an apartment complex located at 10630 Beechnut Street, Houston. The Houston Police Department issued a statement today detailing the charges of burglary with the intent to commit a felony against both suspects in the 178th State District Court. As per the city of Houston news release, the photographs of Millender and Humphries, who are yet to be apprehended, have been released to the public.

An additional suspect, Laron Pijeaux, 18, finds himself also charged with a similar count of burglary with intent to commit a felony in the 179th State District Court. Pijeaux is currently hospitalized with gunshot wounds from the incident and an image from his April 2024 booking is publicly disseminated. The police were called to the scene shortly after 11:10 p.m. on July 26, where they discovered Pijeaux wounded from multiple gunshots. It is reported by Detective C. Brown of the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division that the male victim was then urgently transported by paramedics to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Initial investigations revealed that several armed and masked suspects forcibly entered the apartment and began discharging their weapons. Pijeaux, caught in the crossfire, was struck multiple times. While Pijeaux was identified and arrested, the other assailants managed to escape from the site of the shooting. Following a consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, charges were pressed against Pijeaux on July 28.

Evidence gathered subsequently was critical in identifying Millender and Humphries as accomplices, prompting the Harris County District Attorney’s Office to also formally charge them. Millender, Humphries, and at least three others who remain unidentified are still at large, and the local authorities are actively seeking any information that could help to quickly apprehend these suspects. If anyone has information concerning the whereabouts of Millender, Humphries, or can help identify the remaining suspects, they are encouraged to get in touch with the HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division at 713-308-8800 or anonymously communicate with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
