Wawa, the convenience store chain known for quick bites and coffee, is showing its support for educators with a jolt of caffeine as students hustle back to the classrooms. From September 2 through September 15, the company's "Cheers to Classrooms" promotion will provide free hot coffee to teachers and school staff, according to ABC27. They're celebrating the start of the school year by treating educators to a free cup of coffee.
"As everyday heroes of the classroom return back to school, we're delighted to toast a new year by providing free coffee to teachers and school staff for the first two weeks of September," Dave Simonetti, Wawa's Senior Director of Store Operations, expressed in a statement obtained by FOX29. To claim their free coffee, educators simply need to let the cashier know they are a member of local school district at check-out. It's an in-store-only offer, so teachers and staff will need to visit in person to get their free coffee.
The offer, however, is only exclusive to selected locations. Wawa's mid-Atlantic stores, including those in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, are participating in this initiative. This region-specific appreciation follows on the heels of similar promotions in Florida and Alabama earlier in August, as reported by FOX29.
It's clear Wawa recognizes the hard work educators put into nurturing the community's children. "We hope this small gesture shows our deep appreciation for everything educators and school staff do for children in the community," Simonetti told ABC27. The simple requirement to let the associate at the register know your affiliation is a small token of proof for the recipients of this warm gesture.
