
A young man, aged 20, was fatally shot early Sunday morning in Aurora, prompting an investigation by local police. According to the Aurora Police Department, as reported by 9News, the shooting occurred in the 1700 block of Boston Street at around 3:30 a.m. The victim managed to drive himself to a hospital after the incident but later succumbed to his injuries.
Despite efforts to save his life, the man was pronounced dead at the hospital. The APD believes that the young man was specifically targeted, as detailed by Denver7, noting that "no arrests have been made, but police believe the victim was targeted." To significantly reassure the community, investigators do not consider there to be a continuing threat to the general public about this case.
The identification of the victim will be released pending notification of next of kin by the coroner's office.
