Delaware State Police recently apprehended a man from Bridgeville on multiple charges, including DUI and drug-related offenses, after a traffic stop conducted in Seaford. The man, identified as 41-year-old Jeremy Ferrell, was stopped after a trooper on patrol noticed his vehicle's expired tags. The incident occurred on Friday, according to a report from the Delaware State Police.

A computer check prompted the trooper to initiate a stop as the black Chevrolet Trailblazer headed north on Sussex Highway, around the area of Concord Road. Upon approaching the vehicle, signs of impairment were evident in Ferrell's demeanor, and he thereby underwent standard sobriety tests, which resulted in his arrest. The tests indicated his impairments and were conducted close to midnight at 11:48 P.M.

Search following the sobriety tests led to the finding of about 14.53 grams of methamphetamine, which were packaged in seven bags. Also found in Ferrell's possession were items commonly associated with drug distribution, such as a digital scale, various paraphernalia, and packaging materials.

Charged with both possession and intent to deliver a controlled substance in Tier 2 quantity, a felony, driving under the influence of a drug, and expired vehicle registration tags, among others, Ferrell now faces serious legal challenges. Following an arraignment by Justice of the Peace Court 7, Ferrell was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution with a secured bond set at $9,620.
