The small town of Cheboygan, Michigan, has experienced an unfortunate wave of vandalism, law enforcement officials say. Over 70 vehicles have been damaged, evidently at the hands of two juveniles, as reported by CBS News Detroit and WWJ Newsradio. Michigan State Police say troopers from the Gaylord Post made the arrests following an investigation into complaints from the Cheboygan City Police Department regarding multiple incidents of vandalism within city limits.
Specific acts of vandalism reported to state police included tires being deflated, rocks being put into fuel tanks, and damaged mirrors. As captured by security camera footage and led to the subsequent apprehension of the young suspects, the police identified one of the juveniles. Upon being interviewed by authorities, two are now facing charges. While the minors’ names have not been disclosed due to their age, the scope of their alleged actions stretches across Cheboygan.
Furthermore, local properties and infrastructure were not spared, with graffiti markings appearing throughout the area. This was highlighted in the investigation updates provided by the MSP Seventh District's post, underscoring a broader range of damage to both private and public property. Various surfaces were spray-painted, adding a layer of complexity to this spree of vandalism.

The nature of the specific charges has not been released to the public, reflecting a degree of discretion typically exercised in juvenile cases. Caught by one of the suspects from the security footage, further details regarding the investigation and subsequent legal process remain largely under wraps at this time. Authorities have encouraged local residents to report any additional, possibly related occurrences of vandalism to law enforcement.
