In a succinct communiqué, the Clark County School District (CCSD) announced the departure of its chief financial architect, Mr. Jason Goudie. After anchoring the financial helm since 2017, Goudie has vacated his role as deputy superintendent of business administration. The district relayed its appreciation for Goudie's tenure, stating, "We appreciate his years of service to Clark County School District students and families. The District remains committed to ensuring the stability and management of its finances," as reported by 8 News Now.
CCSD refrained from disclosing the circumstances surrounding this shake-up in the finance department. The vacuum left by Goudie will temporarily be filled by Deputy Chief Financial Officer Diane Bartholomew, who steps into the interim capacity to steer the district's financial course. In statements obtained by both 8 News Now and FOX5 Vegas, the district expressed its future focus will be on "increasing collaboration, communication, and effective systems to provide support to schools during their budgeting process."
This announcement trails behind the recent compelled resignation of Clark County School Board Trustee Katie Williams, following the conclusions of an investigation by the Clark County District Attorney's Office into her residency status. Furthermore, the district has faced earlier disruption this year with the resignation of CCSD Superintendent Jesus Jara in February.
