
A 40-year-old Colton man, Edward Joseph Marquez, has been apprehended in connection with an attempted murder that occurred early this August, following a coordinated investigation by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. According to a report provided by the department, Marquez is accused of shooting 41-year-old Cory Manjarrez in an incident that took place in the 1000 block of N. Grand Avenue in the unincorporated area of Colton.
Officials were dispatched to the scene shortly before 1:00 a.m. on August 8th, where they discovered Manjarrez with a gunshot wound, medical personnel swiftly arrived and facilitated his transport to a local hospital for treatment, details about his condition were not immediately disclosed, but his survival suggests a perilous escape from what could have been a fatal episode. An arrest warrant was issued for Marquez after he had fled the site prior to the arrival of deputies.
