A man's life came to a tragic end in the early hours of a Saturday morning at an apartment complex on Chasewood Drive. The incident, which transpired shortly after midnight, is now set to go before a Fort Bend County grand jury following the fatal shooting, according to the City of Houston News. The identity of the deceased, a man believed to be between 40 to 50 years old, is still under investigation by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

As per the report released by the Houston Police Department's Homicide Division, which includes detectives K. Hale and A. Ledford, the situation began when a 56-year-old man requested permission to charge his phone within the victim's apartment. This seemingly small request escalated quickly into a dispute over a proposed charge for the service. After arguing indoors, both men continued to argue outside, where a gunshot abruptly interrupted the quarrel.

The tenant, after being shot, managed to return to his apartment before succumbing to his injuries. In contrast, the shooter sought refuge at a nearby residence, waiting there until law enforcement arrived. He was detained shortly after without any further incidents. Responding to the emergency, Houston Fire Department paramedics officially declared the victim dead at the scene.

The Fort Bend County District Attorney's office will review the case. They will need to carefully examine whether to fully pursue charges or not. "The Fort Bend County District Attorney's Office was contacted and determined the case will be reviewed by a grand jury to determine if charges will be filed," as City of Houston News reports.
