
Tragedy struck late at night on one of Long Beach's thoroughfares as two motorcyclists collided, leaving one rider dead and another injured. The Long Beach Police Department reported to the scene at the intersection of East Artesia Boulevard and Long Beach Boulevard on September 26, around 11:55 P.M. after receiving calls about a traffic collision involving two motorbikes.
Both riders were found in the roadway; while one was urgently taken to a local hospital, the other motorcyclist was declared deceased at the scene, with the untimely event leaving behind the kind of sudden grief that slices through the fabric of routine city life. The victims' names have not been released, pending notification of their families as the Long Beach Police Department's Collision Investigation detectives look into the cause of the incident - incidents like these serving as solemn reminders of the fragility of life amidst our daily commutes. The LBPD said, "Speed, distracted driving or impaired driving are not believed to be factors in this collision."
