
A serious accident occurred on southbound US-131 in Grand Rapids Friday morning involving a school bus and a Ford Fusion. According to WOOD TV, Michigan State Police responded around 10:30 a.m. just north of Burton Street, where the Ford, reportedly moving at a "high rate of speed," lost control and made contact with the bus before leaving the roadway. This incident left four people inside the car with various degrees of injuries requiring hospitalization.
The collision caused considerable disruption to the flow of traffic, with FOX 17 News reporting that while traffic continued to move through the area, delays occurred as a result of the morning crash. Fortunately, there were no children on board the bus at the time of the accident, and the bus driver was uninjured. Thus far, one person's injuries have been described as serious by the Michigan State Police.
