According to ABC6, after a minor rear-end collision on Red Bank Road near the Twin Bridges Boat Ramp, the victim, a woman, was reportedly attacked by a male assailant who proceeded to rob her and flee the scene with her pink Coach purse and wallet.
The assault took place around 3:05 p.m. last Wednesday and was severe enough to warrant medical attention for the woman, who was treated and later released from a local hospital. Police are looking to urgently apprehend the suspect, described as a white male, approximately 45 years of age, tall, thin, and with dark hair, who was driving a light-colored four-door sedan. The ABC6 reports include a sketch provided by investigators to aid in identification.
Witness accounts to ABC6 describe a woman in distress, necessitating intervention from passersby, who recounted the incident in frantic 911 calls. "She's acting like she can’t breathe, and she's on the ground," one caller described, "She's saying someone hit her. Oh my gosh, her fingertips are turning blue, and she's trembling."
Genoa Township Police Chief James McMillin, in a statement obtained by ABC6, expressed confidence in the community's dedication to assisting in the case.
