The details recount a scene where, after the pursuit ended in a crash, officers arrested the driver—Dayton Thomask Nihipali, aged 25—on an array of charges. These allegations include driving under the influence, and the more serious counts of being a prohibited possessor in possession of not only a firearm but also ammunition, along with maintaining a large-capacity magazine and owning a firearm lacking a serial number. The victim of the crash reportedly sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Nihipali, after receiving medical attention for injuries from the collision, was sent to Long Beach City Jail to await a bail hearing.
