A man, aged 29, whose identity is yet to be confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, perished in a traffic mishap yesterday around 5:35 p.m. near 14100 Almeda Road. The individual was riding a black Suzuki motorcycle heading south when he collided with a trailer connected to a gray Ford F-250 pickup truck, according to an investigation released by the City of Houston News.
The crash's circumstances, as reported by HPD Vehicular Crimes Division's Sergeant V. Vo and Officer D. Ortega, indicate the motorcycle driver had been moving at a reportedly brisk pace and maneuvering through traffic, witnesses say, the driver of the pickup truck was in the midst of a left turn onto Foxshire Lane when the incident occurred. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead by the responding paramedics at the scene of the accident, as reported by the City of Houston News.
The driver of the Ford pickup truck stayed on site after the crash—showing no signs of intoxication, speaking with law enforcement officials, and was eventually released following questioning. The aftermath of the incident left a part of Almeda Road closed while authorities worked and gathered evidence. No charges have been filed as this story continues to develop and more information will likely become available pending the ongoing investigation.
