The Women of Law Enforcement (W.O.L.E.) conference recently celebrated another successful gathering, with the Ladies of LPD showcasing their strength and leadership among their peers. The event, which draws women in law enforcement from various states and countries, is aimed at empowering them to overcome the industry-specific challenges they face. Providing them with practical tools and knowledge, the W.O.L.E. conference helps foster a supportive environment for skill-building and professional development.
According to the Lewisville Police Department's Facebook page, Chief Rollins showed support by sending a large contingent from the department. Also in attendance was City Manager Claire Powell, who made an appearance on the first day of the conference. The organizers designed the courses intentionally to equip the attendees with strategies they can take back and implement at their home agencies.
The W.O.L.E.'s focus on leadership is a critical aspect for women in law enforcement. In a profession historically dominated by men, women have been steadily making inroads into various roles within the sector. Yet, challenges remain, and it's through venues like W.O.L.E. that these challenges are met with solidarity and actionable advice.
