Local authorities have linked a series of chilling homicides in Las Vegas over the past two years to one man, Michael Coleman. He was first arrested in 2023 for the murder of 48-year-old Kidada Stewart, found dead outside her home. After his initial arrest, Las Vegas Metro Police connected Coleman to three more murders, according to media briefings and reports from the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The other victims, identified as Benjamin McCarty Jr., Marcus Larry, and William Hill Jr. met their untimely ends between May 2021 and November 2022. Although the killing of Benjamin McCarty in the parking lot of an auto parts store seemingly stemmed from gang disputes, the other murders trace back to what authorities describe as a "criminal enterprise" helmed by Carl Chester. Chester, now deceased, reportedly orchestrated a scheme involving fraudulent Paycheck Protection Program loans and, according to the KTNV report, dispatched Coleman to eliminate those who failed to remunerate his share of the proceeds.
Michael Coleman is being held at the Clark County Detention Center and was scheduled for a court appearance following his multiple murder charges. The investigation is ongoing.
