
Los Angeles officials are on the hunt for a suspect following a suspected arson that caused significant damage and left four people injured, including two firefighters. The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to a three-story apartment building under construction in the 700 block of New Depot Street, where they battled a major blaze starting at around 3:45 a.m. on September 13, as reported by KTLA.
Aside from the structural carnage, the inferno necessitated the evacuation of several surrounding buildings, affecting countless residents, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department are working alongside LAFD’s Arson/Counter-Terrorism Section to crack the case of the fire's origin, which remains undetermined at this stage. In the course of tackling the flames, two firefighters sustained minor injuries and two tenants of nearby apartments were hospitalized, one for smoke inhalation and another with burn injuries to her hands and arms.
The investigative team is looking for any information that could lead them to the culprit, acknowledging the aid that public tips can provide.
